One of three new couture nail color collections ZOYA for Fall 2012

Inspired by backstage beauties, talented designers, runways and VIP fashion events, the NYFW 2012 Color Collections by Zoya for Fall 2012. The gloss collection has some incredibly shiny jellies.

Each New Fall Collection (Designer, Diva and Gloss) features color that is beautiful, long-wearing and “haute” off the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Fall 2012 runway!

Katherine (ZP638) – Sheer eggplant jelly gloss, buildable formula (Peter Som custom shade)

 3 coats of Katherine, Katherine over Monica from the Designer Collection, Katherine over Daul from the Diva Collection

Paloma (ZP639) – Sheer berry red jelly gloss, buildable formula

3 coats of Paloma, Paloma over Toni from the Designer Collection, Paloma over Elisa from the Diva Collection

Frida (ZP640) – Sheer teal blue jelly gloss, buildable formula

 One coat of Frida, Frida over Ray from the Diva Collection, Frida with 3 coats

At first I was like “Oh Great… a sheer collection. -_-” Then I tried them and saw they applied streaky and unevenly. *sigh* The next day I tried again and got better results. If you want to wear them alone and build them up then you have to apply 3-5 thin, even layers. Needless to say I won’t be wearing them alone. OK, I needed to find a way to make them work right? So I started applying over polish and liked the results. They make polishes look all juicy, not to be confused with the shine some top coats give. So if your fav polish is matte you can wear it another way with these. Unless you put them over light shades they aren’t very pigmented enough to alter your base color.
