I had my doubts about this product. At first I thought why not just buy a waterproof mascara and eliminate this step. Then I thought about the fact that we all have our favorite mascara and that favorite just might not be waterproof. So I gave it a try. I left one eye untreated and I applied Lash Genius on the other eye after my mascara dried. I was afraid it would take away the look my mascara gave me by clumping it up or drying it out but I didn’t run into those problems. I thought it would make my lashes feel sticky and heavy but it didn’t, your mascara texture will stay intact. I put it on my finger just to feel it and was expecting it to feel like a primer but it is thicker and a little bit oily at first but when it dries I didn’t feel it at all.

I waited 10 minutes before I tested out the waterproof effect. Normally I use a baby wipe to remove my makeup before I use my clarisonic and the “waterproof” products at least smudge if not remove at all. So that’s what I used to test it out. The first wipe on each side didn’t leave a residue. On the second wipe a little bit of mascara wiped off on the untreated side and nothing on the side with Lash Genius. I wiped a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th time and the more I wiped the more my mascara came off on the untreated eye. Not one bit of mascara with the Lash Genius came off no matter how many times I wiped it.  So Lash Genius was truly WATERPROOF.

I can totally recommend this product. It’s perfect for summer and those beach/pool days.
