So the beautiful Phyrra tweeted about this company and I’m a sucker for loose shadows/ pigments so I gave them a try and ordered a few sample sizes.
How are Fyrinnae’s different?
We have always strived to create the colors, altering hues in our studio lab using different methods including high-heat treatment, and using deep or vibrant “bases” in the shades to bring out the hues and allow for more variation of sparkle/shimmer/matte. Some shades take over two hours to create in our well-equipped studio/lab. This is why many of our eye shadows do not apply the same as other companies’: they are not the same product, and are not meant to be applied the same way. Sure, we create a few sheer or pure shimmer eye shadows like Snow Leopard, but for the most part, our colors have depth and dimension. In our photos, nearly all dry swatches were “patted” on, not rubbed in a streak, and the wet swatches are mixed about 1 part water + 1-2 parts shadow, though that varies depending on shade and density of the base hue. We strongly recommend against swiping the shadows on, as this can ruin the effect of some, except when applying over Pixie Epoxy.

Pyromantic Erotica is a vivid light orange with an obvious chartreuse highlight. As it gets closer to light, the shadow changes to a brighter, gleaming orange.

Varying hues of gold, blue, and green create a shade that appears silvery sage, but light reflects different hues. A versatile shadow, but not boring. Graced with a sprinkle of pale green sparkle.

Smoldering warm red and a touch of chartreuse mingle in a deep base. Almost an Arcane, as the green appears blue at angle or with light changes, but not by much. Somewhat of a “vampy” earthtone.

Soft black shadow with shimmer which changes from a brilliant aqua to vibrant cool pink, depending on light and angle.

Bright, rich, shimmering royal blue. Moved closer to light or at an angle, and it turns purple to pink, though still retaining hints of blue.

This shadow is pink shimmer and sparkle on black, but closer to light or at a different angle and it becomes a golden green, the black base setting off the highlights.

Complex whirl of lime green and gold on a shimmering brown base, graced with a touch of lavender sparkle. Moved close to light or at an angle, and the shadow warms to hues of peach and pink on rusty brown.

Dark Fantasy is an intense grass green shimmer on a black base, which changes to a golden-peach to deep orange-coral

Appears as a vibrant, shimmering purple with a turquoise-green highlight at a distance, but changes to a warmer purple to pink at an angle or close to light.

Glimmering, multi-faceted cocoa taupe. Shades of copper and silver, with hints of pink, gold, and green shimmer on a neutral taupe-brown base make this shadow suitable for a wide range of skintones.

Stunning metallic bright burgundy, gleaming and sparkling with a bit of lighter pink. Closer to light or at an angle, and it warms to pink to an orange-gold hue.

Rich burgundy-brick shade filled with shimmer that changes from aqua to bright crimson-pink, depending on proximity to light or angle.

Semi-matte violet base with an aqua shimmer that changes to a bright purple-pink when closer to light or seen at an angle.

Futuristic Glamrock is a pale translucent aqua-blue, sparkling with a hint of coordinating hues. Bring it closer to light or change the angle in some cases, and it turns to icy pink.

Glitterboi is a deep blend of midnight blue, violet, and a hint of pink sparkle on a black base, and as the angle changes or light-distance decreases, changes to a light, gleaming grape, then to vibrant metallic pink.

Deep black, this shadow glitters with lime and pale blue. Closer to light or at different angles, and the sparkle takes on a pink and turquoise appearance.

Pyromantic Erotica, Ethereal Éire, Bonfire Spirits, Sorceress

Mermaid Masquerade, Alchemist’s Curse, Velveteen Werewolf, Dark Fantasy

Mystical Hedgehog, Witchy Woodland Creatures, Sultry Samhain, Conjuror

Faerie Glamour, Futuristic Glamrock, Glitterboi, Raven’s Prophecy
In all honesty the pictures don’t do these justice. When I saw the tweet I looked up swatches and from what I could tell most of Fyrinnaes shadows are duochrome (chameleon) and glitter, which was all I needed to see to place an order. I love multicolored products that change color depending on the light and how they are applied. They are all beautiful, pigmented and wear well. I swatched them wet because that’s what I normally do with loose shadows/ pigments to make them pop more but honestly less is more so just slightly damp your brush and pat them on to make the colors and glitter more apparent.
The downside to Fyrinnae…. They are a very small company so shipping time is quite long, 3-5 weeks in fact. My order only took a week to get to me so I got lucky. Sometimes their website is down too.
My favorites (no particular order): Faerie Glamour, Conjuror, Sorceress, Velveteen Werewolf (must have for neutral lovers), Glitterboi, Raven’s Prophecy
I am beyond happy with my purchase and plan on buying sample sizes of most of their collection and full sizes of my favorites.
